Impotence | Erectile Dysfunction | ED

Erectile Dysfunction is a men’s sexual health condition where a man has trouble reaching and/or maintaining an erection. This condition is most commonly seen in men above the age of 40; however, it occurs in men of all ages and is very common. While ED is not typically considered a dangerous or life-threatening situation in and of itself, the underlying issue and/or the symptoms that arise from ED can be more serious. Issues may include more serious and/or frustrating physical and mental conditions such as: systematic vascular disease, a heart condition, cancer, depression, anger, low self-esteem, decreased energy, trouble sleeping, reduced sex drive, and relational tension, to name a few.

If you’re regularly experiencing Erectile Dysfunction, then it’s a good time to consult a men’s sexual health professional. At Tennessee Men’s Clinic, we provide discreet services that have been effective for thousands of men. Due to the array of ED causes and the wide range of ages affected, we provide several treatment options. We know that everyone is different, which is why we’ve worked hard to provide multiple treatment options to address the many potential factors, whether the issue is ultimately a physical condition or a mental-health condition. We want to help you recapture a fulfilling, active sex life that’s not plagued by ED. Get in touch with our team today and let us help you get on track to a better sex life.

Signs and Symptoms

Signs of Erectile Dysfunction typically include:

  • Trouble having an erection
  • Trouble keeping an erection
  • Decreased or lack of sex drive

ED can occur because of a wide range of simple to more complex factors, like consuming too much alcohol one night to having a serious heart condition. If you are continually suffering from ED when trying to participate in sexual activities, seek treatment with a men’s sexual health specialist; it could change your life.

Now Offering ESWT: A Non-Invasive, Surgery-Free, and Drug-Free, ED Treatment!

What is Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)?

ESWT is a medical procedure that uses a series of acoustic waves in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED).

As men get older, there is a higher risk of experiencing some form of ED. Studies have shown that for each decade after 40, the odds of having ED goes up by 10 percent. So, 50 percent of men at the age of 50 have ED. This tends to happen because with age comes deterioration in the blood vessels of the penis. Along with the deterioration of the blood vessels, the tissues in the penis lose their ability to fill completely with blood and/or trap blood in the penis. Without blood flow in and the ability to maintain it, you cannot have an erection.

How Does ESWT Work For Erectile Dysfunction?

While the mechanism of action is not fully known or understood, it has been theorized that the shear stress exerted by this energy induces the release of angiogenic factors and results in neovascularization of the tissue with subsequent improvement of the blood supply. It is also possible that it improves compliance of the tissue that expand during the process of getting an erection. When treating Erectile DysfunctionESWT’s acoustical waves are directed to the tissue and blood vessels in the penis. For those patients that do report an improvement in erectile dysfunction scores, it means with this treatment, men could experience better, stronger, fuller erections that can help improve the overall sexual experience.
